TESTIMONIALS
The benefits of Pilates are many. Some of our clients come to Pilates to incorporate core strength into their cardio routines, while others want the lean muscles but not the bulk. Both men and women are benefiting from Pilates and many are experiencing dramatic back and shoulder pain relief.
If you haven't tried Pilates don't be fooled into thinking that Pilates is easy. Many people make this mistake and cheat themselves out of benefiting from a form of exercise that can literally transform their body.
Celebrities, dancers, performers and athletes have been doing Pilates for years now because of the way Pilates builds core strength. Of the many benefits of Pilates, core strength alone is attributed to the prevention of injury while performing or doing sports. There is no other fitness routine that can accomplish this.

The Feldenkrais Method
The Feldenkrais Method offers a direct and effective means to improve posture, flexibility and coordination, and to help those with restricted movement, chronic tension and pain, developmental and neurological problems, and everyone wishing to live and move more comfortably. The Feldenkrais Method - an integration of biology, neuroscience and psychology - is a unique approach to human learning and change, acclaimed for its ability to access the innate neuroplasticity of the brain to improve many areas of human functioning.
Over time, we each adopt physical and psychological habit patterns. These habitual ways of moving, feeling, and acting become deeply embedded in our nervous system, often constraining us to a small portion of our potential, and creating unnecessary physical and psychological limitations. The Feldenkrais Method can free us from unnecessary habitual patterns and enable new, more effective ways of moving and feeling to emerge. Because the Feldenkrais Method is a general approach to human learning and functioning, it can be applied to improve or alleviate many difficulties. The Feldenkrais Method is practiced in two complementary and versatile formats:
Functional Integration®
Functional Integration is a gentle, effective, hands-on, individual approach, widely recognized for its ability to address serious muscular and neurological problems, chronic tension and pain. Learning, change and improvement are achieved through the use of specific skilled movements, individualized for the client's particular needs. Our Feldenkrais Practitioners have experience applying Functional Integration with a wide range of difficulties, such as cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, repetitive strain injury, scoliosis, stroke, chronic back, neck and shoulder pain, head injuries, TMJ pain, the issues of performing artists, and athletes, etc.
The lessons are designed to improve ability, to expand the boundaries of the possible, to turn the impossible into the possible, the difficult into the easy and the easy into the pleasant.

Awareness Through Movement®
Awareness Through Movement (ATM) exercises or 'lessons' are easy to do, of benefit to everyone, and the results can be immediate and profound. Awareness Through Movement was developed by Dr. Feldenkrais as a means to re-engage the nervous system in the kind of fundamental learning process we all have access to as children, but lose as we get older. Awareness Through Movement lessons employ innovative, sophisticated movement sequences which address every area of the body and all aspects of human functioning. Using a combination of guided attention and pleasant, purposeful movement, each lesson reveals the essential dynamic relationships in a particular pattern of movement or action. With Awareness Through Movement you can:
- Improve your co-ordination, posture and flexibility.
- Restore lost function.
- Eliminate aches and pains, and move more easily.
- Find relief from stress, and the tools for psychological growth.
- Reduce unnecessary muscular effort.
- Gain renewed physical vitality, health and emotional well-being.
- Learn to recover more quickly from injuries and how to avoid them.
- Refine artistic and athletic performance and prevent performance related injuries.
- Attain greater ease and pleasure in all your physical activities.
- Improve the fitness and agility of your brain at any age.
The Feldenkrais Method is the most sophisticated and effective method I have seen for the prevention and reversal of deterioration of function.
