The older I get, the more I realize how important it is to incorporate strength training into my fitness routine. For me, that’s easier said than done. I LOVE cardio classes, running on my own or a hard core kickboxing class . . . but I don’t necessarily enjoy the aspect of strength training. I like the idea of the results, but not the work to get there 🙂
My CLM Ambassador, Jacquie, knew this, so she recommended I try a BODYPUMP class. A fast-paced, barbell-based workout that’s specifically designed to help you get lean, toned and fit, BODYPUMP is found all over the CML Group Fitness schedule.
This class has motivating music and uses scientifically proven moves to help you achieve these targets more quickly than you would working out on your own. It’s a 55-minute class that features ten tracks/songs, each focusing on a different muscle group. Our instructor Geoff was upbeat, encouraging, and did a great job explaining each exercise and how to appropriately execute them.
Although it’s a FULL BODY workout, the hour actually goes pretty quickly. Geoff was great with providing modifications or giving options for equipment choices. We used the bar, free weights and our body weight throughout the class, so there was a nice variety of exercises.
There was a great energy in the room, and all members were respectful of social distancing and cleaning all equipment before and after use. I can definitely see myself incorporating this class into my fitness routine. AND since it’s not an intense cardio workout, I didn’t have any issues wearing my mask for the entire class, like I thought I might.
If you’re hitting a fitness plateau, or are looking for a new workout that really does work the entire body, join me in one of these awesome classes!
