4 Tips to Keep you Healthy this Summer!

Summer has finally arrived!!  And with it comes BBQs, graduation parties, vacations, and lazy days! So, with this lack of activity and increase in calorie consumption, what can you do to make sure you don’t derail your fitness goals? 

Here are some tips from the Personal Trainers at La Maison Health & Fitness to keep you on track.

  1. Eat a good breakfast with high protein.  Protein is the building block of muscle and also takes longer than carbs to digest.  A high protein breakfast will help to keep you from getting hungry.
  2. Stay hydrated.  Drink plenty of water.  Not only does water help improve all body functions, it also will make you feel more full and keep you away from those extra calories.
  3. Stay Active.  Hike, bike, walk, or jog.  Just keep moving.  These are easy ways to burn calories and help to prevent fat gain.
  4. If you are looking for an easy travel routine, try this.  3 min. jog, 10 push-ups, 10 squats, 10 lunges, and 10 bicycle crunches.  Repeat for 30 – 45 minutes.

Lastly, remember you are on vacation.  If you gain a pound or two, it is not the end of the world.  Just make sure you get back to the gym and back to your routine!
