Years of experience teaching: I have worked with children/families my entire life and have taught in various capacities. I have taught private swim lessons (20+ years), group swim lessons (20+ years), water aerobics (10+ years), swim team (20+ years), water safety trainings (15+ years), lifeguard trainings (20+ years), CPR (20+ years) , first aid (20+ years), administering emergency oxygen (20+ years), baby sitting(15+ years), Financial Literacy (5+ years)
Swim area(s) of expertise: I teach all age groups and swim levels. I’ve received both American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certifications and YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor certifications. I would say my expertise is building strong trusted relationships with clients that allows them to excel in their class goals.
How I got into teaching: I’ve always enjoyed the water from an early age. I’ve also learned the impact of helping others as well. I grew up wanting to be a math teacher or accountant. While attending the University of Pittsburgh I realized those were not my callings and that youth programming/aquatics were my passions. Seeing the short term and long-term impact after class is an amazing feeling. Teaching doesn’t feel like a job to me, but instead my calling.
Available on Tuesdays.
