Years of experience teaching: I have worked with children/families my entire life and have taught in various capacities. I have taught private swim lessons (20+ years), group swim lessons (20+ years), water aerobics (10+ years), swim team (20+ years), water safety trainings (15+ years), lifeguard trainings (15+ years), CPR (15+ years) , first aid (15+ years), administering emergency oxygen (15+ years), baby sitting(15+ years), Financial Literacy (5 plus years)
Swim area(s) of expertise: I teach all age groups and swim levels. I’ve received both American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certifications and YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor certifications.I would say my expertise is building strong trusted relationships with clients that allows them to excel in their class goals.
How I got into teaching: I’ve always enjoyed the water from an early age. I’ve also learned the impact of helping others as well. I grew up wanting to be a math teacher or accountant. While attending the University of Pittsburgh I realized those were not my callings and that youth programming/aquatics were my passions.Seeing the short term and long term impact after class is an amazing feeling. Teaching doesn’t feel like a job to me, but instead my calling.
